I'm on to the next phase of my life. Today I asked a certain someone for a proper closure. And that will be the last time I will ever be asking that "certain someone" for anything ever again. This has dragged on for far too long and hurtful words have been said from both parties. Though it hurts, so much, I am sure things will be fine again because time heals all wounds and i'm stronger than you think I am.

Wow I spent my whole weekend at home! Let's see.. I woke up early for breakfast with my family today. Shopped for groceries with my mom after that. Then I had a short nap in the afternoon haha I think im sleeping too much nowadays. I love lazy afternoons at home :) I just watched "The Wedding Planner". I never get tired of watching romantic comedies. Of course my all time favourite film is still "Pretty Woman", with "My Best Friend's Wedding" being a close second. Julia Roberts has such a gorgeous, infectious smile.
I want to be swept off my feet again.

I often think that the best time to blog is at times like these, in the wee hours of the morning when it's quiet and most people are asleep. I had an eventful night I think, and my heart was in turmoil, but i'm okay now. I'm alright.
The first week of school was mundane, to say the least. I only had to go to school on Monday, Thursday and Friday for a few verrryyyyy boring and rather useless lectures. A few things kinda upset me today so I took a five hour long nap in the evening to ya know, "sleep it off". I feel so refreshed now! I havent really been sleeping well (esp after mambo night on wednesday) and I think I really needed that extra few hours of sleep!
Nothing else I wanna blog about haha I realised a while ago that there's a prevalent melancholic theme to this blogg.. I shall blog about happier, more interesting things next time! :-)

So school has finally started! No more lying in bed all day and doing basically nothing. I think it's great that school has started so lazy bums like me can finally have something productive to do instead of gallivanting everyday without an aim or purpose. So I guess.. life has been okay. Lectures are rather boring but the people in school are nice and friendly.
I met up with Wanxian yesterday and it got me thinking. It's rare to find such great friends like her. She and Jan have always been there for me, day and night. When I was feeling horrid, they never failed to try all ways and means to cheer me up. Jan would call me from Australia and talk to me for hours till I felt better! They're awesome and I would be so lost without them.
Everyday you took my breath away but now there's no reply
Only hi, goodbye.
Have a good day all!

I havent been home much lately. My eyes feel like they're about to pop out of their sockets :( During the past few weeks, I found myself in school almost everyday, training from noon to night for NUS RAG day and having countless dance sessions in preperation for the big day. Though the briefcase girls were indignant and unhappy at times due to (______________), the experience as a whole proved to be immensely satisfying at the end of it all. Today morning was THE day, the day all of us had spent weeks gearing up for. We only had one chance to showcase our talents, to give it our all and to do our best to impress the judges. Even though SDE did not win any prizes this year, we certainly did try our best and we "danced like there was no tomorrow" out on the stage. The friendships and strong bonds forged definitely made the whole experience unforgettable yet bittersweet and really, no words can describe the joy and immense pride we sde raggers felt at the end of the performance when we finally managed to stack the boxes on top of one another without difficulty, portraying a beautiful picture to the audience at the end. I was so pleased when I was standing at the side of the stage and hearing people shouting "GO SOPHIA!" I couldn't see who those lovelies were but ahhh I feel the love :) It was no doubt nerve racking at first being up on stage in front of hundreds of people but we raggers got over it and our performance at rag day was, if i say so myself, awesome! :)
College life has been great so far! Lessons proper start next week though ugh. I can't imgaine sitting through all those dull and sleep-inducing lectures again :( But ohwell, there are only four more years before I enter the working/ corporate world and I am not looking forward to it all. Cherish our youth, youth is (unfortunately, not) forever!
Now, I need to rest my poor eyes. Goodnight all!

I have many things in my life to be thankful for. I have a (sometimes) loving family and many great friends whom I can count on. I do not have to worry about where my next meal is going to come from and most of all, I am loved by my family and my friends. I am a very lucky girl. God knows how the poverty stricken people in other countries are suffering. So yes, I should learn to count my blessings.
So much has changed in this two and a half years. I was foolish and giddy in love, I believed that forever then meant forever and ever. What did I know? I was barely 17 years old. What did I know about "forever"? Now, I find myself disillusioned and disenchanted. Nothing in life comes without a struggle. But at the end of it all, you do emerge a stronger and wiser person. Looking back now, no doubt, I wish I could have done some things differently. But here I am, forcing myself to look to the future, focused and determined not to make the same damn mistakes again.
"Sophia, chin up chin up."
If anyone could make me a better person, you could.

I feel feverish. I came to the conclusion this morning that all the days of going out and gallivanting have taken its toll on me and I need a rest. I shall stay at home today..
I just finished reading an interesting, thought provoking book "Brand New Friend". To cut a long story short, a 33 year old guy (his name is Rob) who is engaged moves to Manchester to live with his girlfriend. Believing that love conquers all and confident that he will adapt to life quickly in Manchester, he takes the plunge. The downside? He's completely friendless and lonely there having left his best friends, loved ones and basically his whole life back in London. He has lots of difficulty finding a new best friend in Manchester and when he finally does find a friend whom he can connect with, his new friend has a huge flaw. She's a girl..
Do platonic friendships really exist?
I personally feel that yes, it is possible to just maintain a platonic friendship with a member of the opposite sex. I myself have a few close guy friends, for instance Brinden who has been my friend for almost three years now. Of course we have had our fair share of troubles and I find myself snapping at him sometimes when he gets too annoying and arrogant (those who know him well enough will know what I am talking about) Amazingly, we still have managed to be good friends all this while. And I know that when I am feeling down, I can call him up, cry my heart out and he will still always be there for me.
Others may vehemently disagree with me and they might state that "there is no such thing as a platonic friendship"! Well it just depends on the way you look at it. Some "couples" are just made to be friends and nothing more than that. There is no "chemistry", "butterflies", or whatever you call that tingly feeling you feel in your stomach when you see a person you have the hots for
I have had my fair share of guy friends who have walked in and out of my life within a matter of a few months, weeks and even days! These friendships, albeit innocent are nonetheless sticky.. I guess. Girl friends are a different story altogether! While guy friends are entertaining no doubt, nothing beats the lovely, warm feeling of hanging out with a group of close girl friends in a small cozy cafe :) Okay on a sidenote, it's funny how whenever I think about "single and confident women", a vision of Carrie Bradshaw and her three sidekicks strutting down the street clad in their Manolos comes to my mind. I can safely say that my girl friends are the best. They have always been there for me. We laugh together, cry together and most of all, we grew up together. I love them with all my heart!
"Don't make someone your priority when you are only their option"
Food for thought, yes?
PS. Rob chose his girlfriend in the end, not his girl best friend :)
